Your skin doesn’t behave the same in June and December, so your routine shouldn’t be identical either.
In summer, heat and sweat can make skin oilier, more prone to breakouts and tanning. Lighter textures work better—gel or lotion moisturisers, non-greasy sunscreens, gentle foaming cleansers if you’re oily. You might need more frequent cleansing (without overdoing it) and strict sun protection.
In winter, many people experience dryness, flaking or tightness, especially on cheeks and around the mouth. Switching to creamier cleansers and richer moisturisers helps. Using a hydrating serum under your cream and avoiding very hot showers on the face can also reduce dryness.
If you use actives like retinoids or acids, skin may feel more sensitive in winter, so you might reduce frequency slightly or buffer them with moisturiser.
Body skincare also changes—light lotions in summer, thicker creams or oils in colder months, especially after bathing.
You don’t need a whole new product set every season, but small swaps in texture and frequency keep skin more comfortable and balanced.
