Day and night, your skin faces different situations—sun, pollution, makeup in the day; repair and recovery at night. That’s why routines don’t have to be identical.
Day-time is all about protection. After cleansing, you might use a light serum (like vitamin C or hydrating ingredients) and then a moisturiser suited to your skin type. The non-negotiable step is sunscreen—even if you’re mostly indoors but near windows or screens, protection helps.
Night-time is more about repair and nourishment. You don’t need sunscreen, but you do need a proper cleanse—especially if you wear makeup or have been outside. A double cleanse (remover/balm + face wash) can help if you use heavy products.
After that, you can use slightly richer creams or specific treatments like mild retinoids, exfoliating acids or targeted serums—ideally after checking with a dermatologist, especially if you have sensitive or acne-prone skin.
You don’t have to use ten products. Even:
Day – cleanse, moisturise, sunscreen
Night – cleanse, treatment (if any), moisturise
…is a solid base. The big difference is: protection in the day, recovery support at night.
